Some biracials have ODR tendencies from what I have noticed. The Octoroon looks down on the quadroon, the quadroon looks down on the 50/50 in between phenotype.

It does matter whether these mixed race people are generationallly mixed or biracial there seems to be this looking down and trying to say that the other is black, and not mixed in appearance enough. This is something I have noticed manifesting among people who are mixed with black. Not all are this way but some are.

I have also noticed, that they don’t bother Hispanics with various mixed race phenotypes even when the black ancestry invisible. They try to make them feel non mixed. I believe it’s because Latinos have a culture with its own language. The Latino culture is well established too. Mixed race people whether they be biracial or multi generationally mixed need to be careful pushing the one drop rule on other mixed race people.

Because all it does is reinforce what you are try to escape. You become cooperators in ignorance -- with those monoracials who you all claim are pushing the one drop rule on mixed race people. I feel that it is done out of inner pain, and frustration. Beating up on each other will get mixed race people no where. We must use our time to focus on channeling our energies into positive activities -- that will help create ways of helping, passing along information, building awareness, and encourage mixed race people.

Don’t let other negative mixed race people discourage you with their words, insults, rudeness, and disrespect. It is good to associate with other mixed race people who are similar to you when it comes to ideas and opinions regarding mixed race identity. It is good to frequent places and even on the internet websites where other mixed race people gather.

Life sends you test, to see how strong your house is. There will always be those who try to tear you down and your ideas but keep on moving in the direction that you destined to arrive at.
